30 Minute Workouts: Treadmill
Life is busy. We know that, and we feel the same way. However, exercise should be a priority in your life, even if you can only work out for 30 minutes a day. We would like to help you out with your workouts through a new blog series on 30 minute workout routines. Every few weeks, we will be talking about a new type of 30 minute workout that you can put into practice.
Today, we will be discussing the treadmill and giving you an example of what 30 minutes on the treadmill could look like for you.
One of the many positives of using a treadmill to run or walk on is that it is a controlled environment to work out in. You don’t have to worry about the rain, impending cold weather, or a heat wave. You will always be sure that you won’t have to cut your run short due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Another benefit of the treadmill is that you can run at different speeds and inclines; both depending on what you want your workout intensity to be. Something to remember when planning your workout is to include a time to warm up and get your muscles ready as well as a time to cool down. As always, make sure you are hydrated well before, during, and after your workout.
Here is an example of what a 30 minute treadmill workout could look like:
5 minutes at 4.0 speed for a warm up
4 minutes at 6.0 speed
3 minutes at 6.5 speed
2 minutes at 7.0 speed
1 minute at 8.0 speed
5 minutes at 5.0 speed
4 minutes at 6.0 speed
3 minutes at 7.0 speed
3 minutes at 4.0 speed for a cool down
It is important to recognize that this workout plan might need to be worked up to. If that is the case, check out our blog from last week on building up to your exercise goals. Also, if you find that you prefer slower or higher speeds, feel free to adjust this workout to fit what works for you. If you want a higher intensity workout, add an incline to your run.
Let us know if you try this workout and love it or if you have your own 30 minute treadmill workout that you find works for you!
